Since 2005, ACCTivate! has been in place at Eclipse, as their complete business management system integrated to QuickBooks Enterprise.

Eclipse, a distributor and manufacturer of high-tech aesthetic medical products, has grown considerably over the years, from a small regional distributor to a leading national supplier to expansion in the global market.

ACCTivate! has been able to adapt to Eclipse's growth and accommodate their specific needs given the system's power, flexibility and scalability that is delivered through its robust functionality and solid foundation.

When Eclipse began shopping for a software solution, their primary focuses were cost-savings and an efficient solution for inventory and sales order management that integrated with QuickBooks.

They discovered ACCTivate! and found it met their needs. Not only did the software meet their initial needs, but it allows them to control and manage a variety of areas across their business.

Eclipse uses the Business Activity Management module to handle their returns and to keep track of service calls for the servicing of their equipment.

On the shipping side of their business they use ACCTivate!'s Shipping Workstation interface to directly integrate to UPS. This allows them to bring the freight cost back into the ACCTivate! sales order, as well as automatically bring information into UPS.

"It makes it much easier to process the order and complete the invoice without having to rekey the freight costs," Paul O'Brien, CFO said. "That definitely speeds up the shipping process, not having to key in the customer information into UPS. Just by keying in the order number we're able to immediately pull that information in and then also the fact that it'll pull that information back into ACCTivate! into the order saves us a great deal of time."

On the purchasing side, the Drop Ship Purchasing Wizard streamlines and simplifies their drop ship purchasing process. They are able to easily process orders that they drop ship to their customers using ACCTivate!.

Reporting is used for different aspects of their business and with ACCTivate!'s integration to Crystal Reports® they can customize reports to meet whatever needs they have on the reporting side.

"Some of the manufacturers that we represent would like sales data in a certain format. We're able to generate reports with Crystal Reports for that and supply it exactly the way our manufacturer would like," O'Brien said.

ACCTivate! also helps Eclipse maintain lot controls and serialized inventory. Managing and tracking this information is a requirement for some of their products.

"If there was a problem with a certain lot we're able to run a report and identify every customer we sold a specific lot to. That's a very important aspect of the software that we utilize," O'Brien said.

On the inventory and sales order management side, they also use ACCTivate!'s kitting functionality to combine individual parts and sell them as a unit.

"Every time I've had a support issue, I've been able to get a hold of somebody and get the problem resolved quickly," O'Brien said. "That's very important in any company."

Prior to ACCTivate!, Eclipse had a proprietary system to handle all their order processing, inventory control and accounting. The previous system proved to be very cumbersome and lacked the cost savings, time savings, scalability and ability to streamline business processes that ACCTivate! delivers within their organization.
