SonicScrubbers® began their business with QuickBooks® as their sole business management system and later realized their growth demanded an inventory management system with multiple warehouse support, purchasing management, kitting and assembly capabilities.
"We wanted to do things with our inventory that QuickBooks at the time couldn't handle, so we chose to move forward with an inventory management system," Aaron Cobabe, COO said. "We went through a thorough process of evaluation of different packages and ACCTivate! had the solution that we were looking for."
Not only did ACCTivate! have the functionality their growth demanded, but it allowed them to integrate bi-directionally with their existing QuickBooks data.
"The tight integration to QuickBooks was important to us because we were looking for a total solution that would keep us from having to rekey information and certainly that has helped us," Cobabe said.
The multiple warehouse and location management functionality of ACCTivate! has allowed SonicScrubbers to configure and organize inventory across multiple, actual and virtual warehouses.
Currently they have one physical warehouse; virtual warehouses for inventory, including international shipments; and since they take ownership of product at the port, their transportation en route from their overseas manufacturer serves as a warehouse location.
For SonicScrubbers, kitting is important for their direct fulfillment and the functionality in ACCTivate! allows them to easily manage product kits made on demand.
Initially, SonicScrubbers chose ACCTivate! for specific solutions and as they managed their operations they found a robust collection of solutions within the system, in which they now utilize: Customer Relationship Management, EDI, eCommerce, drop shipping and Business Activity Management.
Among all the standard features of ACCTivate!, such as inventory management, sales order management, purchasing management and reporting, SonicScrubbers found a valuable solution —a built-in Customer Relationship Management system that has allowed them to provide better customer service.
They have also implemented several optional modules to customize ACCTivate! to meet their specific business needs.
Their products are in about 30,000 stores throughout the country and most of them require SonicScrubbers to use EDI to do business with them. ACCTivate!'s EDI Manager and its integration with TrueCommerce, a well-known EDI solution provider, make that possible by providing a fully integrated and automated EDI solution.
"Overall we've been pleased with how the orders are able to come in without having to rekey them and we're able to invoice out again without rekeying the information and that's invaluable when you are dealing with high volume orders," Cobabe said about the EDI process with ACCTivate! and TrueCommerce.
SonicScrubbers also does direct fulfillment to end customers, so ACCTivate! Drop Ship Purchasing Wizard streamlines the drop shipping process for them.
"The drop ship functionality is amazing. We haven't had that in the past and we do some drop shipments with our international customers. That's really made it simpler — more efficient to receive a sales order, to create the purchasing side and to be able to automate that to some degree," Cobabe said.
ACCTivate! also connects to their eCommerce website using the Internet Shopping Cart Interface add-on module. It allows them to easily import orders placed on their site into the system and manage them as ACCTivate! sales orders.
Business Activity Management allows businesses to track virtually any issue or activity and SonicScrubbers uses it to track every one of their customer support calls, which they are also able to run reports against for simplified management.
ACCTivate! helps SonicScrubbers manage various operations within their business using both the standard and optional functionality of the system, proving that ACCTivate! is not a single function solution, but one with a robust feature set.
