The Great 2000 Fort Worth Tornado hit downtown Fort Worth, Texas on March 28, 2000, one block from the Alterity office. The Alterity office avoided damage, despite the tornado tearing a 4-mile path of destruction through the downtown area, blowing out windows and damaging many high rise buildings.

Alterity was operational the next day. Alterity staff even left to perform an on-site implementation for MCT Industries, Inc. that day. That makes MCT all the more memorable, but even greater is the fact that MCT was one of the first customers to install ACCTivate! and they have been using the system ever since.

MCT Industries, Inc., headquartered in Albuquerque, is one of New Mexico’s leading trailer manufacturers, trailer sales dealers, truck and trailer service and parts transportation entities. They specialize in the manufacturing of ground support equipment for the Federal government’s Department of Defense, providing local and state governments with commercial equipment and service and solid waste management services.

Founded in 1973, MCT started out as a small commercial trailer manufacturer, but over the years the company has grown significantly.

One of the major additions to their portfolio came around 1985, when MCT began getting government contracts for manufacturing. Years of experience designing, developing and manufacturing custom commercial trailers and precision work enabled MCT to win contracts from the Department of Defense.

The government contracts have mostly been for the manufacturing of ground support equipment for the US Air Force, US Navy, Marines, Department of Energy as well as Sandia National Labs, Los Alamos National Labs and Berkeley. As the government grew, so did MCT. Company sales got a boost and doubled in the first ten years. Government contracts remain the main source of manufacturing for MCT.

MCT’s portfolio also consists of services such as, providing parts, service and repairs for commercial trailers and trucks, and a waste collection company that packs, transports, stores and disposes of solid waste and construction debris.

MCT has added several other projects to its portfolio in the past five years. These projects include land and property development, buying and renting buildings and construction of custom built to suit buildings. MCT is also currently working on a website that caters to the construction industry. The website www.Heavyhog.com launched in 2009.
