Software Updates
|
|
The ACCTivate!
Software Maintenance plan is designed to provide subscribers with the
newest version of ACCTivate!.
This plan
includes both web-updates and full-version releases. CYMA users recognize it as SMP,
while QuickBooks users recognize it as part of the new SMS plan.
Either way, it's
the annual subscription that provides you with updates and new
version releases.
Without a
current subscription, users are not granted access to those updates
and releases.

Custom
fields in ACCTivate!
Getting
more from your ACCTivate! system
What do Custom Fields mean for my business?
Built into the core of ACCTivate! is an ability to
create and define your own fields that appear on several screens in the
system.
Because these fields may be customized by you, they
are of course called Custom Fields.
They give you the ability to store information in ACCTivate! the
way that you want it stored.

This includes the Sales Order Window, Sales
Invoice,
Product Information Window, Purchase Order Window
and Business Activities Window.

Kitting
& Serial/Lot Number Modules
Two
of the most popular Add-on Features
Many ACCTivate! users
have found that ACCTivate! has many special features and modules that
allow them to manage their business in new and powerful ways. This is clearly seen with two of our
most popular modules: kitting and serial & lot number control.
Kitting
The
ACCTivate! Kitting module is designed to accommodate companies that
sell products that are sold as a single unit but are composed of
multiple components that are collected or "kitted" when
shipped.
This allows you to keep
your components as separate products in your warehouse (you may even
sell them separately) and you don't have to go the trouble of
assembling them together until the order is placed. (ACCTivate! can do
that under the Assembly function).

Benefits from the Kitting Module
- Group multiple
products together in one new product - the new kit.
- Your customer only
has to remember the new kit product, not all of the components.
- The warehouse gets an
item-by-item pick list to pull and assemble the kit together.
- The default packing
list shows only the final kit product name. Like every printed
document in ACCTivate!, this can be changed to show all
components.
Serial
and Lot Numbers
ACCTivate!
allows you to create and track an unlimited amount of products that
have lot numbers or serial numbers.
Have full
control of these products from the time you receive them into your warehouse,
stock them, sell them and even track them after the sale.

from the Serial/Lot Number Module

No need to wait. Record the lot
numbers or serial numbers when you receive the product into
inventory.

You choose how to
operate.
Print a specific lot number or serial number for the warehouse to
pick, or let them choose and record it into the system when
invoicing.

Easy Tracking. Find these numbers at
any time in the future for recall or review purposes. In a month
or a year, it's easy to find the exact lot or serial number that
you sold.

Make it a barcode. You can even
integrate a barcode reader to scan items that have serial number
barcodes.

The faces
of ACCTivate!
Our
people make us who we are!
David Bartold
David has
been working for Alterity since 2003 in product development as a
computer programmer and has helped produce many of the features of
ACCTivate! that people see everyday.
Some of these
projects include the Service Scheduling module, the spreadsheet/file
import feature and the new Wireless Pocket PC modules to name a few.
He has recently
earned a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Before coming to Alterity, he had
worked for some very well known software companies in the region, even
landing internships during his high school years.
David resides
near Austin, Texas. In his spare time, he has taken up
baking as a hobby and bakes a variety of breads and bagels from
scratch.
Steve Bluhm
Steve
also joined Alterity in 2003 and has played a part in a wide variety of
communication and marketing projects for the company.
He has helped
produce everything from the company website to the help files, fact
sheets and other documentation used for both pre-sales and existing
customer support and information.
He came to the
company with a mix of media, web design, small business and operations
experience. He currently leads
the growing Marketing Communication department at Alterity.
Steve holds a
Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, with a focus on Communication
Technology, from The University of Texas at Arlington. He and his wife live in Arlington, Texas
with their 17-month old son.

Wireless
Inventory Counts
New
innovations to help increase your productivity.
Count your inventory from
your Pocket PC
The
newest module added to the ACCTivate! product line is the Wireless
Inventory Count module.
This module's name
explains its function pretty clearly; it gives you the ability to
perform the inventory count function (already built into ACCTivate!)
from a wireless Pocket PC.
You start by
setting up for an inventory count just as you would if you were
printing paper inventory count sheets, but instead of printing paper,
you open the Inventory Count module and instantly have the full
inventory count sheet available to you on your PPC.
The benefit of
this is clear. No paper! No Pens! No writing down the number and then
having to re-key it into ACCTivate! again at a later time. In fact, if your Pocket PC has a
built-in scanner, or an attached scanner such as a Bluetooth device,
you can simply scan the product and it will count it for you with
digital precision.
Then, when you
are done counting, just save the count and it will update the main
ACCTivate! system automatically.
Again, this eliminates the laborious double-entry of information
that lets errors creep in.
The goal of the
ACCTivate! wireless modules is clear; more freedom and mobility, faster
access to information when needed and better accuracy through scanning
barcodes compared to human pulling and counting.
