CYMA Version 9

ACCTivate! is not yet compatible with this soon-to-be-released CYMA version 9.

Many CYMA users have asked if ACCTivate! 6.0 (or any previous version of ACCTivate!) is compatible with the new CYMA Version 9 that is scheduled to be released.

Unfortunately, ACCTivate! 6.0 is not compatible with CYMA Version 9.  Please do not install CYMA Version 9 if you are running any version of ACCTivate!.

However, a new version of ACCTivate! is planned to be released shortly after CYMA Version 9 is released.  This new version of ACCTivate! is designed to be compatible with the new version of CYMA

This version is also designed to include support for Pervasive 9.1.

ACCTivate! awarded QuickBooks Gold Developer Status
Earns highest customer ratings for inventory software

Earlier this month, Intuit, makers of QuickBooks, launched a new program to help differentiate third party software developers into three categories.

Gold, Silver and community developer categories are now in place and serve to help consumers identify powerful and well-supported software packages with hundreds of customers across the country (like ACCTivate!) against smaller and less well-developed systems.

ACCTivate! earned the highest customer survey ratings of all inventory-specific Gold Developers as listed on the QuickBooks website. In some fields, the ratings our customers gave us were over 20% higher than what our competitors received from their own customers.

This is quite an accomplishment and an honor. It's in line with our commitment to provide our customers with the highest possible service and support. We strive to continually improve ACCTivate! and are pleased that others have noticed.

For more information on the QuickBooks Gold Developer status, please feel free to contact your ACCTivate! representative.

Assign a specific printer to any report

More ways ACCTivate! makes things easier

Do all of your reports print from the same default printer, but you need to print certain ones to another printer?

Of course, ACCTivate! has a solution that makes this possible. There's no need to walk a pick ticket or other report out to the warehouse, when there's already a printer out there; or change the default printer each time you print certain reports.

So, save time and get the report immediately to the right people by printing directly to the printer of your choice.

Beyond the basic printer setup option in the file menu is the printer assignment option in the Configuration Manager.

This configuration option allows you to assign any available report that is printed from a specified ACCTivate! workstation to print to any printer on your company's network.

In configuration, you can specify the workstation where the report will print. Do this by selecting the report and browse for the printer. You can also enter an asterisk (*) to have the report print from the default printer.

Now, every time you print that report from the specified workstation it will be sent to the selected printer.

When you select a report that has been assigned a printer and then click the Print button directly from the Report Selection Criteria window, that report will automatically and immediately print to the specified printer.

However, if you print from a report preview, the Printer Setup dialog box will open set to the specified printer. You can select another printer at that time, but the printer assignment configuration settings will not be permanently affected.

Spotlight on the Service Billing Module

What does the Service Billing Module do?
Do you need to keep track of labor and materials for services and repairs? Would it be helpful to quickly and easily produce a sales order for time and supplies used on a job? If you answered yes, then check out new the Service Billing module.

The overall purpose of this module is to allow you to add both labor and materials directly to any service activity that you are tracking in the Business Activities module. By tracking this and tying it directly back to the service activity, you can keep track of the service status, bill for services if necessary and have a history of the service as entered in the system.

Example Scenario
Work was performed on a service call where replacement parts were covered under warranty, but the labor was not covered. Start by tracking this service call as a business activity, then you will have a complete record of this issue from the time the customer calls with the problem until after the service tech leaves after having completed the repair work.

The best part about the system is that when the service technician reports back the amount of labor to bill the customer, it is entered directly to the same business activity and you can quickly make a service bill for the work done on this call.

Web-Support Enhancements

Respond to the ACCTivate! team, open old requests and even attach files on the ACCTivate! Support website

Recently, some additional features were added to the ACCTivate! Support Website that are designed to provide you with an even easier experience to get the support that you need.

1)     First, support requests may be entered and responded to on the ACCTivate! support website. The ACCTivate! Support team will respond back to routine support requests by posting a message on this website.

From the ACCTivate! menu, select Help > ACCTivate! Support > Support on the Web. You will be logged into the Help and Online Support section of the ACCTivate! Website.

2)     To respond to an existing request, select Existing Support Requests from the menu. Then select the Support request you would like to respond to.

It doesn't matter if the request is new, closed or cancelled, you can respond to it. Those that are closed or cancelled will be reopened as new requests when the message is sent and it will be placed back into the queue for the ACCTivate! Support team.

3)     In addition to this files may now be attached to any ACCTivate! support request as well. Open any support request and attach any files under 2MB. Multiple files can be attached to the message as well and they can be viewed by the ACCTivate! Support team once they are uploaded.

So, now viewing support requests and responding to them can be done at once, in one place — on the ACCTivate! website (www.acctivate.com).
