Feature Story

ACCTivation! 2007 was a great success!
Attendees leave the conference energized and more skilled with ACCTivate!

We did it again!
Another great ACCTivation! Conference! This was the 3rd annual users' conference and like past years, it was a big hit!

What went on at the conference?

Two days of classes, speakers, breakout sessions, user case studies and more. Let's not forget the food and reception either. From the response we got, we did it right again this year!

Tuesday afternoon started with pre-conference special topic classes that included Custom Reporting, Advanced users and a class just for New users. These were informative and well attended.

Tuesday evening got the conference started with a welcome reception that gave everyone a chance to meet the ACCTivate! staff and other ACCTivate! users from across the country.

Wednesday started the first full day of the conference with a Progress Report detailing activity since last year's conference. This lead into a session outlining the future of ACCTivate! and more sessions throughout the day.

Features, presentations and breakout sessions were the order of the day as different tracks were available for attendees to pick and choose the sessions they wanted to attend. Breaks gave everyone a chance to network with one another.

Open workshops
We knew a major draw to the conference were the open workshops that gave 1-on-1 time with ACCTivate! support team members. These workshops took place throughout the whole conference and were heavily attended.

The conference continued Thursday with more sessions including two great user presentations that highlighted how well ACCTivate! has impacted their operations and allowed them to take their businesses to the next level.

Tips & Tricks
The best was saved for the last session. The fan-favorite Tips & Tricks lead by Brian Sweat wowed everyone again. This session lured in a full-house who learned of special time-saving tips and little-known features of ACCTivate!.

Another great conference!
We're thrilled that so many different companies get so much value from ACCTivate!. It was our pleasure to meet everyone and we look forward to seeing you at next year's conference.

Display order numbers as barcodes on reports
Pick, pack, ship and receive quicker by turning order numbers into barcodes

With help from Crystal Reports®, order documentation (or other reports generated inside of ACCTivate!) can be modified to display the order number as a barcode to help save time and effort in your operations

Companies that are setup with procedures to print and scan barcodes can see several great benefits.

·         Barcodes help save time and reduce errors.

·         Scanning the order number into UPS or FedEx (with the ACCTivate! Shipping Workstation Integration Module) helps eliminate the need for shipping personnel from having to key in each order number.

·        Greater productivity can be seen when performing routine picking, packing, shipping and receiving tasks in the warehouse.

The following example demonstrates how to do this in Crystal Reports:

1.      In Crystal Reports, open the appropriate report.

2.      Create a formula for the barcode named Order Number Barcode with the following syntax: IDAutomation_Uni_UCC128 ({Orders.OrderNumber})

3.      Drag the formula onto the desired area of report where you want the barcode to display.

4.      Change the font to IDAutomation Uni S * and set the font size to 18. This will display the formula as lines.

*If you are using Crystal XI, you will only see the barcode in the dropdown list.  Once you select a barcode you will be able to see the name of the barcode font.

5.      Resize the formula box to make it larger, so that the lines from top to bottom and from right to left will not be cut off.

6.      Print and test

Just another ACCTivate! capability that can make your business life a lot easier.

Kitting & Serial/Lot Number Modules
Two of the most popular Add-on Features

Many ACCTivate! users have found that ACCTivate! has many special features and modules that allow them to manage their business in new and powerful ways.

Kitting
The ACCTivate! Kitting module is designed to accommodate companies that sell products that are sold as a single unit but are composed of multiple components that are collected or "kitted" when shipped.

This allows you to keep your components as separate products in your warehouse (you may even sell them separately) and you don't have to go the trouble of assembling them together until the order is placed. (ACCTivate! can do that under the Assembly function).

Benefits from the Kitting Module

  • Group products together. Group multiple products together in one new product - the new kit.
  • Only one number to remember. Your customer only has to remember the new kit product, not all of the components.
  • Full Bill of materials. The warehouse gets an item-by-item pick list to pull and assemble the kit together.
  • Default packing list. The default packing list shows only the final kit product name.
  • Flexibility. Like every printed document in ACCTivate!, this can be changed to show all components.
  • Options. We offer several variants of the order confirmation, pick ticket and packing list to accommodate user preference.

Lot & Serial Number Control
ACCTivate! allows you to create and track an unlimited amount of products that have lot numbers or serial numbers.

You have full control of these products from the time you receive them into your warehouse, stock them, sell them and even track them after the sale.

Benefits from the Serial/Lot Number Module

  • Flexibility in tracking. Record lot or serial number when the product is received (and track each number), or don't record them and only enter that number when a product is shipped (and reduce complexity).
  • You choose how to operate. Pre-assign a specific lot number or serial number for an order when it's entered, or let the warehouse choose and record when picked.
  • Easy Tracking. Find these numbers at any time in the future for recall or review purposes. A complete history of each lot and serial number may be looked up for each product and customer who receives that product.
  • Search for a lot or serial number. Both the product and customer windows allow searching for a specific lot or serial number across all products and customers.

For more information on these modules, see the ACCTivate! website at www.acctivate.com or contact your ACCTivate! representative.
