Lookup products by supplier
Configure supplier lookup in Purchase Orders to default to the selected vendor

ACCTivate! users can find necessary information in virtually no time with the system's versatile filtering tools, in which the Supplier Lookup function is one such tool.

Located within all Product Lookup screens this lookup function is especially helpful with Purchase Orders. The Supplier Lookup can be configured to default to the vendor selected on the PO, so that only products available to purchase by that specific vendor will display in the Product Lookup.

Otherwise, with the setting turned off the supplier will be defaulted to the last supplier selected
requiring the desired vendor to be manually selected. So, why not have the desired supplier
already selected by the system.

This default setting can be turned on in the Configuration Manager:

1. Select File > Configuration Management
2. Select Purchasing > Purchasing options
3. Click the Edit button.
4. Check the checkbox under the Purchasing options section that reads, "Lookup Products by supplier".
5. Save the new settings.

Now, notice that whenever a PO is created and products are entered on the Detail tab, the Supplier Lookup field near the bottom of the Product Lookup window will display the vendor selected on the PO.

Once this option is set it is not permanent, so the vendor within the Supplier field can be changed easily or the configuration setting can be turned off.

The Lookup products by supplier configuration option can save a considerable amount of time when entering several POs or even a few and in the end have a positive effect on the productivity and efficiency of a business.
